Foundations for Fellows

The St. Jude Medical Foundations for Fellows Program offers educational opportunities and resources to complement clinical education in neurostimulation (also known as spinal cord stimulation), provide hands-on training, and prepare fellows for their transition to clinical practice.

 

Foundations for Fellows Webinar Series

This series of online seminars hosted by renowned neuromodulators features interactive modules relevant to the practice of neuromodulation and live question and answer sessions. Intraspinal Anatomy and Physiology — Now Registering 
Giancarlo Barolat, MD

Objective:  Provide a forum for fellows to learn basic and advanced concepts of neuromodulation.

Content:  Includes a review of anatomy and physiology of the nervous system, intraspinal anatomy, and neurophysiology as applied to neurostimulation.

Patient and Device Selection
John Huffman, MD

Objective:  Provide participants with an overview of spinal cord stimulation indications, patient selection, and pre-operative considerations.

Content:  Includes a review of spinal pathology, pain diagnosis and symptomology, as well as, a discussion on appropriate patient selection.

Procedures

Objective:  Provide participants with spinal cord stimulation techniques.

Content:   Includes an in depth overview of trial goals, device selection, use of fluoroscopy, and the permanent implantation procedure.
